Growing up into Easter

Well, This year is the first year Dyrs and I have hosted Easter. It was a bit of a struggle coordinating his family's plans with our family plans but I was really happy that we all got together. I think it would be silly since we all live in the same town to have seperate holidays.

I was a little nervous, but more than nervous i was protective. I didn't want any help, no extra dishes, no outside advice. I wanted to do it on my own. I felt like a 5yr old who refuses to let anyone help tie their shoes so they go around with untied shoe laces all the time.

No untied laces here, Easter went without a hitch. Sure about 5 more people than expected showed up so we had to use every chair and fork we own, but it went well.

Dyrs was extremely helpful, he helped move furniture, clean, and did the mashed potatoes!

It was really nice doing this holiday stuff together, it really took the stress off.

I am very glad that we were able to host Easter, it felt wonderful having a bunch of family in the house and everyone being relaxed, and thanks to Gordon having some interesting conversation :)

I think we'll be asked to host more events though, even with 15 people everyone still had plenty of room and mentioned that our kitchen is so big it echo's.

Unlike going to Gram/Gramps or Misty's, I didn't feel like a kid who didn't know how to help or was permanetly stuck at the kiddy table. I felt in control and very adult.

I love new experiences!
