On the Eve of My 21rst

Hi every body! I just wanted to say hello to you all share some of my good news.
Looks like becoming a dental assistant is a definite possibility for this coming fall. I will not know until april for sure. But the lady I spoke with sounded really positive!

Tommorrow I am turning 21. This is a birthday i thought i was looking forward to for a long time. I used to think how cool it would be to go out dancing and get drunk and have a good time all the time and not worry about being caught for under-age drinking (not that i ever drank under age mom :))

However, my life is very different than I thought it would be when i was dreaming of turning 21. I honestly thought I wouldn't live in Indiana, I never thought that I would be married. And I foolishly thought I would be famous or a model or something spectacular.

But then I realized today as I was wondering what to do tommorrow that I am fortunate enough not to have alcohol or partying controling my life. I know alot of people who are motivated by the next party, the next bar, and it controls their life.

I personally am proud that as I dawn this big next stage in my life, that it is honestly not that big of deal. My life is not going to change just because I can legally buy a drink. I am not going to instantly become cool (YES I"VE REALIZED THAT I WILL NEVER BE COOL) I will not through away moral judgement (now that i have some thank God). I have better thinks to do. Yes I will probably have a glass of wine at dinner tomorrow. And that will be gratifying enough.

I just wanted to share this epihany with you just in case you were worrying about me.

I love you all and Thanks in advance for sharing my birthday with me!!!

Happy Birthday Laur! You're cool to me, well, atleast your hands always are... just kidding. Congratulations and have a good day! I am not cool either. In fact, my jokes are becoming more like dad's all the time.

I think Dad's jokes are getting better, but he has ALOT of moral judgement and in my book that is cooler than cool. You're beautiful and you've come a long way babe! Happy 21! Dad and Jan
